Next service in 23000 miles?

My service indicator shows that next oil service is 23000 miles away, 10/2010. I just picked up the car about two weeks ago, car just had service done to it. Other BMWs that I had, none showed more than 15000 miles. Does any of you with 2008 4.8i have similar issue?
