Nav Routes and Memory Sticks
 

I know you can send a POI to the Nav via BMW Assist, but I am wondering about complete routes.

Reading a couple of BMW reviews in magazines, I saw where the reviewers would talk of BMW giving them a memory stick they could plug-in and it would have the entire route BMW arranged for their test drive.

Is there a way to make a route on a PC, download it to a memory stick, and have the entire route loaded into the Nav? If so, it would be very handy as one could plan the route on their PC prior to a trip.

I know Garmin has a program called Mapsource which does this for Garmin GPS devices, and I've heard of a GPX format for exchanging GPS information between different GPS devices, and I wonder if the BMW Nav system can read/import this format data.

Does anyone have any information as to whether or not this capability exists on the BMW Nav system? How does BMW do this for their PR test drives?

thats interesting....... maybe its done via google maps?
