Very nice ! I like it!

- blacked out running boards are a HUGE improvement
- blacked out wheels make it look bigger, good move... never liked the 211s before but now very acceptable
- [smaller] rear wheels even with spacers still look too far tucked unfortunately

I bet you can't wait to play out in the snow this weekend.

jaaX3 12-18-2009 05:45 PM

Are you going to black out the lower grills?

maybe. I did the upper smaller one myself very easily with a can of spray paint. It pops right out and pops right back in. The lower one has the parking sensors attached and isnt so easily removed.

I agree. I hated the 211's but now in black, they dont look so bad. Yes, it still looks tucked and thats a 30mm spacer on the rear. Can you imagine without any spacers? And yes, I am anxious for the snow this weekend. The more the better as far as Im concerned...

What Up Pole, Where you been hiding?? I don't post much here myself as this is just turning into a newbie/ 35d board!

Looks hot! I thought gloss black was easy and that the dirt/dust won't show...boy was I wrong. Even dust shows on black! Personally I'm not too fond of the black running boards. I am actually removing mine alltogether and installing the oem sills. I also replaced both my front grills. It's really not that difficult. I have pics of my install if you want...

Very Nice Setup Pole!

rh71...What did you do to your taillights, paint or film? It looks good. I have film, but too lazy to get them on (and its too cold to apply anyway.)

medicchoi 12-18-2009 09:39 PM

The car looks sharp!

it's lamin-x film which is supposed to be custom fit but it wasn't perfect... only noticeable if you look right at it, but from afar you can't tell. Next time I'd do painted but this works for now. It was only 65F when I put it on - not an easy task.

The X looks great man!! You're gonna love the Blizzaks. I had them on my modded 335i last winter and that thing was unstopable in the snow. cant imagine on the X. I know you've mentioned it before but what do you have for a lowering kit? I love the drop!!

Sweet winter setup!

hi
now that its a few months in, how do you like those tires on your X?

i just ordered the lm-25s for my wife's X from tirerack on clearance at like ~150 per.
she was bitchin about sliding in the snow this year.
mebbe the oem A/S have just started to wear down at 36k.
i know im late in the game for winter and this should guarantee us a dry run thru the spring lol.

Nice, I never thought I would need Blizzakx on the X5 but I may change my tune. Deep snow on stock Michelins barely got through the driveway today- anout 8 inches of unplowed snow, ruts already present from the MDX which breezed through on stock Goodyears. I was surprised that the X had so much trouble and the MDX aced the same snow.

Looks really good. Nice choices to improve the look in a subtle but effective manner.

I must say, these tires make the truck feel completely bulletproof in the weather. They are comfortable in the dry and extremely capable in the snow. I can honestly say they are a perfect winter tire for my needs. I have extreme comfort and no concerns knowing my wife and kids are riding on these blizzak runflats. I did raise the truck back up to stock height for the winter. Cant wait to drop it again and put the 215's back on.

All the best
