Store music through CD Player / USB port
Hi all,
According to the owner manual, my 2010 X5 3.0 has the feature of store music but for some reasons I can't seem to get it to work. A few questions for the board: - Do you must have CD/DVD player to upload the music? I only have the regular CD on the dashboard, does this mean I can't load the music through the CD player? - Again, according to the owner manual, there are two USB connector (one in the glove box & one in the armrest). However, I don't see any of them. Under the armrest, I only have aux input jack while in the glove box, there is a small piece of plastic which I assume is where the USB connector suppose to be but mine is just a whole piece of plastic without the USB slot. Do I must purchase some sort of package in order to get the USB connector? Thanks, Derek |

If you don't have the Tech Pkg, that's why it won't work. Unfortunately the manual does not state that you need the Tech Pkg to have this feature. |
That makes sense. I don't have the technology package. As jaaX3 pointed out, this was not mentioned in the owner's manual. In fact, even the sales guy thought I should have these features...thanks for all your input now I can stop look for them any further

Generally the members of this site are more knowledgeable about our cars than "a few" of the CAs out there in the BMW dealership world.

Guess this feature is related to Nav System .... |
I have Nav but not tech package and simply hook a jump drive to the USB outlet in the armrest which I find flexible for adding music.
|
Yes it is related to the NAV system in that the NAV option adds a hard drive that enables music storage.
|
Isnt there a USB/Ipod option?.... maybe its that and not the NAV.
