Anyone knows a machine shop in bayarea to mod the center bore rim?

Hi,

I just bought a set of take off 214 rim set from X6. As I learned from other members. I need to change the rear center bore size from 72.5mm to 74 or 74.1mm in order to put on my X5. Anyone knows a shop in Bay Area would do that job?

Thanks.

Are you sure? I thought the bores size for the E70 and X6 were the same.

Rear wheels bore size is different on E70. X6 bore size is same as E53.
He did his research. ;)

As per other member advice, X6 is 72.5mm in rear and X5 is 74.1mm. Now, I need to find a shop in Bayarea who can do this.

Is this true for all X6 (X6M) rims? They will not fit on the E70 w/o modification?

I just had machine shop to bore out the rear center bore from 72.5 to 74.1 for 214 style X6 rims and installed on my X5. Runs great and smooth!

The shop is in Bay Area, CA. Here is the web site. > Wheel Techniques <

Here are some pictures while at the shop and after it was done. Poor quality from cell phone.

Oh yeah.. forgot about them... I've dealt with them before. Their work is hit or miss sometimes. but that's from personal experience. Did you install the fender flares or do you already have a 4.8?
