License Plate LED

How do you go about removing and replacing the license plate bulbs? I was going to go at it with a flat head screwdriver but wasn't sure where to pry.

Also how exactly do you attach a resistor or should I just spring for the $75 ready to go bulbs?

stick in a flat head and push sideways, then down. plenty of discussion on bulb choices - do a search,
