Foglights

Is there any way to have the foglights always turn on whenever the headlights come on? I'm annoyed by the one-sided fog light that comes on whenever I make a turn with the headlights on and the foglights switched off - I think it looks goofy.

i have the same opinion... but it seems you always have to manually press it on.

yep you always have to press it on. It is because it is illegal to drive with fog lights on in certain countries, unless it is actually foggy.

On my E92 335i, I just left the light switch to auto and pushed the fog switch and they all come on.

I've been wanting to do this since I bought the thing, and I created a post as well...to no avail. Seems the only way to do it is to rewire the 12v from the actual foglight switch and tap/splice it into the parking/headlights setting instead. I have yet to tackle it. I search around on www.e46fanatics.com for a write-up since there foglight/headlight switch is the same as ours, but either I haven't found it or else there is no easy way but to rewire. I've gotten used to flipping the parking lights on and hitting the fogs w/ my pinky. I wish it wasn't a momentary switch, but either something w/ a memory or like a manual switch in my 7.

It does that when you have Headlights in Auto mode. To avoid this, don't use auto mode, however I think you may also loose the adaptive headlight functionality as well. I keep myhead light switch at 0 when they are not in use, and turn them on when I need them on, and you can turn your fogs on as required as well.

Actually, I think it looks goofy to drive around with foglights on all the time, but I guess it's different strokes for different folks.

Bingo.

Maybe buy some xenon christmas blubs and string them around the back...and some lights on the valve stems and window washer nozzles...

I guess it is an extension of the 'hey look at me' philosophy. If only they had long mirrors along the freeways.....
