Tracking and options accuracy on BMWUSA.com

Hello all,

I know the website to track orders can be flaky at times (it was with my 335xi). My X5 went into production finally and the website is now fairly accurate. That said, one of the options that I ordered (roof rails) is not listed on the web site. My salesman looked up the order, saw status 150, and confirmed roof rails are on the order. Should I be concerned? Or is the website never totally accurate?

FWIW, I did get almost every option, so I'm also wondering if the website is only coded to print out a certain number of options.

Thanks!
BoB

The website has been terrible with my X5 35D order. It is wrong most of the time. When mine finished production it went immediately to VPC in Oxnard California. That has to be one very fast train.

On the site, the "selected options" change like crazy. My 35d has nine options and I have seen anywhere from six to nine appear on my list. As long you have all confirmed with your salesman, you will be fine.

My 35d was released to a carrier on 1/13, I'm waiting!!!

Good Luck ///Mike

Same thing here: everything but roof rails listed.

I heard that this is one of the main reasons BMW held up the X1 and X3 releases. They are working to dramatically improve the order process. BMW is looking to move to a more european model where a majority of the cars it sells are custom orders that never sit on dealer lots. Much more efficient and I'm sure profitable for them.

I wouldn't worry about it, mine was the same way. Sometimes it showed all the options, and sometimes it would show none, other times it would leave off one or two. Check often enough and you are bound to see all of them at some point.

Reading this makes me feel better as my X5 is in production and the website is missing Roof Rails, Spare tire, and Smart Phone integration.

Seems like the normal flakiness of the site.

Your salesman should be able to confirm everything with a vehicle inquiry report. The website is missing a few of my options also... and the car went to the VPC in one day!
