Rear Cargo Protection
Anyone found a way to protect the rear carpeted section but still have easy access to the compartment underneath the cargo area?
|
Do you keep it empty back there except when hauling groceries/luggage etc? I just use the fitted luggage mat (BMW accessory) and I can still get underneath with minimal effort... it's very light but durable, and moves away easily. One thing's for sure, the thing is a lifesaver in all situations.

Piece of cake. I ordered a WeatherTech cargo mat. When you want access to under the cover, simply lift the rear edge of the WeatherTech liner and raise the cover.

like it a lot. but they send enough catologs to re-forest Maine. |
My back seats have never been up, I carry a lot of gear back there. I covered the entire floor with (2) 3 x 5 rubber backed/carpeted door entry mats purchased at either Costco or HD (can't remember). Works great, easy to move or pull out of the way.

is the weathertech really any better than BMW's FITTED luggage compartment mat? I have the latter and it's great... near the same price too... (I actually got it for $60 from a bmw dealer on ebay because he initially sent the E53 one by mistake).

They are exactly the same fit. Weathertech makes them for BMW. You just don't have the BMW logo.

I have this:
getBMWparts.com powered by Tischer BMW - Your #1 Source for all OEM BMW Parts/Accessories! And I bought it there. It works really well, easy to use, easy to put in/take out or move out of the way. |
