35d shopping ?s

After lurking for awhile, I need to post up... Been shopping a lot for an X5-- looking at many opportunities from very low mile 07 30si to the 35d.

question; I've seen reference to $1K BMWCCA credit/rebate-- do you just need to be a member? Can I sign up and request rebate?

Thanks for help-- I'm sure I'll have more questions later...

hell, I should have just gone to CCA and checked it out... Looks like I needed to join a year ago. If anyone knows something else about this, I'd appreciate it.

thx

07 3.0, vs. the 35d with adaptive drive is like comparing two separate vehicles. Spring for the 35d with the new iDrive, and dozens of other improvements.

You have to be a member of the BMWCCA for at least a year before you qualify for the rebate check...

I'm a BMWCCA member, but my wife signed for the car so we didn't get the credit (she's not a member). Make sure you sign for the car, or at least co-sign. I wish I knew that before... we didn't get our $1k check :(.

That sucks, have you talked to the BMWCCA?

The lady's name is Tricia Jones...

thanks much for the replies-- yes, it appears its a pretty rigid program. Wished I was a member before now...looks like no check for me

It is quite rigid and I have never heard of any exceptions to the rules. That said, I have used it twice, had no issues, and got the check both times within a few weeks of my request.

With this rebate, my diesel worked out rather well financially... $4,500 Eco Credit, $3,000 off MSRP dealer discount, $1,000 CCA rebate, $1,800 off my 2009 taxes, and I got the sales tax deduction without itemizing (temporary change in tax law). Roughly $11K off of a $61K vehicle, ordered exactly as I wanted it.

It was a good time to buy, IMHO.

Our current/old '01 is in my wife's name...I have added her, some years,
as an "associate" to my membership; forget the cost, but it isn't much.
Not poz that that allows for her to gain rebate, but if we ever get another
new BMW, I will make certain it's titled properly, before buying.

That was a nice buy-- they definitely wanted to move it.

I'm sans the CCA and at about 2K back of MSRP. The owners demo that's been in service for about 45 days... the only one around for at least another 30-45 days. The next one is loaded more -- so far the dealer has quickly sold everyone that's been around. The 45 day old demo doesn't really bother me (its what i want), but wrestling the discount is taking work. Its additional savings, but its more the battle..:D

Trying to decide if I want to drive somewhere else to take delivery.
