Style 232 19" Snow Setup Pics

Here are some pics of my new (to me) '07 X5 4.8i sport.

I installed the mud flaps, which I initially thought were a bit wide and clunky looking, but necessary in WY to keep rocks off my boat and others' windshields.

With the mudflaps in place, and the 20" OEM fender flares, it was immediately apparent that spacers would be needed. I installed 30mm spacers in the rear, and will be installing 20mm spacers in the front once I get the new lug bolts (backordered). Bringing the wheels out with the spacers really helped make the mudflaps look less hokey.

(If I lived in other parts of the country, I would not use the mudflaps, but here they are a necessity).

The wheels (style 232) were take-offs from an X6, and strangely I had to grind down the wheel bores on the front two to make them fit the hubs. I only had to take off a little 'edge' at the start of the hub, about 3mm wide, grinding them down about 1-2mm. Very strange though that they don't just fit to begin with.

In any event, here's some photos from the other evening, starting around dusk and continuing into the evening as the full moon came out...

Looks great.

The X6 has a different bore for the hub, which explains why you had to grind them down to fit. Strange that BMW decided to do this but true.
