How to fix bumper scratch / dent
 

Hi,

Some guy left two scratches on my rear bumper. From the shape of these scratches, they were from the licenses plate screws. I was able to use my nails to take out some of the scratches but now I have two dents. Is there anyway I can repair them on my own? I read some guys use heat gun but couldn’t find detail in terms of how to do it. Thanks in advance.

If its on the textured portion of the bumper there is no real fix. If its on the painted portion to do it right, go to a BMW body shop. Or at the least touch it up, but honestly touch up doesnt make it look much better.

I'd check with one of the local "dent doctor" services that come to your home or office to see what they have to offer and then decide.

If it's bad, you could fill and then paint the whole with black textured paint that replicates the original finish. See this example

There are places, like this one in south FL that claims to be able to fix unpainted bumpers.

I suggest googling "fixing unpainted bumpers" or variations on that...

Thanks for the info. I think I'm just going with the option of black marker.

:D That's probably what I would do too...

The non painted part usually gets all creased up. Good luck once it gets bad than consider replacing it or fxing it.
