To those with stalling issue....
 

Have you had your dealer replace the Crank Sensor.. trying to get a picture whether this is now the standard fix for this issue and if it works..... had mine replaced yesterday.... no stalls as yet ......:cool:

I don't know if it's any help, but what the hell...

My previous car 2002 530i was a great car with only one "breakdown". Stalled while leaving a green light, sputtered and stopped in the intersection, restarted and limped to BMW dealer. Turned out to be Crankshaft position sensor, replaced and no problems. Anyways, may not be related, but your post did bring back the memory.

I just had CEL issue yesterday - one of the camshaft position censors went bad on me. The engine continued to run, but had a few moments of sputtering during start up. Never stalled. They replaced the censor and so far, after 10 startups and 100 miles, no issues.
