AW touch-up paint? Bimmertools AutoSharp?
 

It is only a matter of time until something nicks the nose paint (gravel kicking up from a vehicle in front, etc.). Living in Az, with such horrendously low-budget repavings, the highways are all chipping/flaking (even some lengths where ADOT has posted sings - on a 75 mph highway - that read "Rough Road"!!! :wow: ), these little nicks have happened to every car I've had. For previous vehicles I have purchased touch-up pens from dealers. What are people using for such little touch-ups? Dealer pens? Anyone try the Bimmertools AutoSharp touch Up Paint Pen: AutoSharp Touch Up Paint Pen ?? Anything better? Does the Alpine White make a difference? Some paints, and some colors, seem to match better than others. Generics usually don't match/blend so well. Don't need it yet (knock on wood) but past experience tells me I will - eventually. :(

Why not just get a clear bra?

Thats why Im getting a clear bra installed on the brand new car. I had it my other car and wouldnt drive without one.

Dr. Color Chip, according to google searches, is getting mixed reviews.

Think I'll re-consider the clear bra. In the past, I have hesitated because I had thought they looked a bit cheap and saw discoloration between the protected color and the exposed (especially on bright colors like AW). Perhaps they have improved. Also have to check to make sure there won't be a penalty on lease return. chips, at least little ones, sort of have to be considered "normal wear and tear" but I still don't like them (call me fussy).

Eventually you will get a chip somewhere. I have used Lanka and Dr. Colorchip. Dr. is easier to use and better coverage. I also have clearbra, it's the exposed areas on the hood, fender etc. that you will get a chip.

The paint stick and clear works well from BMW...and is a perfect match.

Have you done this yet? If so, what product? 3M? Which parts are you covering and what are you paying?

I am considering: Protects the most susceptible front-end areas: including partial hood (about 10" above BMW logo) and around grill, fender tips, full front bumper, and backs of painted mirrors.

Im doing it tomorrow and will take pics of it.

He used a product called Ventureshield. 3m bought the company. He covered all the painted pieces in the front including headlights and fogs. He also did the door cuffs and side mirrors.

He did an awesome job and took his time.
