White Vinyl Interior Wrap-Pics Inside

Just snapped a few quick pictures on my camera phone...I had all the wood trim wrapped in white vinyl I was undecided between that or carbon fiber, but went with the white. There was only one shade so its a tad bit brighter then the outside..not sure if I like it or not...

Too drastic of a contrast with the black. The wood or aluminum looked nice. Maybe ask if they have a Carbon Fiber wrap.

LI-X5 03-18-2010 09:56 PM

eewwww !!

GuyOh 03-18-2010 10:16 PM

carbon would have been better, but atleast its still better then the wood

Noodle555 03-18-2010 10:19 PM

Nice job but just not feelin it.

I want to get my trim in my M wrapped as it is bubbling. Where did you get this done or, if you did it yourself, was it difficult?

AzNMpower32 03-18-2010 10:41 PM

Why didn't you just purchase the OEM aluminium trim? I don't know how long you intend to keep the car, but it can't be good for resale value.

not my taste

BGReddy00 03-18-2010 11:17 PM

It was actually a really cheap mod it cost me $120 installed at a local shop in Boca..I was torn between the carbon fiber that was my original plan, but I decided to go white since I didn't have any carbon fiber on the car.

It's a lease I have 2 years left, so I was looking just to change it up a bit from the wood....I might keep it for a few weeks then change it to carbon fiber or black..they have a black or silver carbon fiber

London Lad 03-19-2010 05:32 AM

Sorry but it looks like they left the shipping film on the car. Just IMHO of course

StumpyPete 03-19-2010 06:17 AM

not my taste either

bmwman3241 03-19-2010 06:55 AM

Black Carbon fiber!!

Epacy 03-19-2010 08:20 AM

I like it. Everyone seems to like it when the porsche has body colored interior accents...

deutsch100 03-19-2010 09:35 AM

I think I just threw up a little in my mouth! :-o Sorry, but that looks cheap, tacky and just plain weird. It really does look like a protective film one would find on a cell phone, wall oven display, or a computer screen. Just not feeling it at all!!!

kwX5 03-19-2010 12:43 PM

Sorry, very unique but in a bad way.

:iagree: A little too much for my raste, but it's different! Way to think outside of the box!

I think that the carbon would look better, depending on the carbon wrap that they have. Some of the hydrographix carbons are way too fake looking for me, but there are some good ones available that would look Really sharp in your interior. I've thought about having some pieces wrapped in real 2x2 twill carbon, but it was too much money (I'm cheap :D)!

X509 03-19-2010 04:05 PM

I don't think it looks to bad, considering the exterior is white. Hard to tell in the pictures anyways, but I am sure it looks better in person.

And sadly, it REALLY does look like a really cheap mod!

I say kudos for having the balls to try something different. Never would have known what it would have looked like unless you had tried it. Thanks for sharing also.

Just ignore the over opinionated people, they just want to jibe to spice up their otherwise boring lives.

bracoX5d 03-19-2010 06:11 PM

How very Florida thing to do. J/K, it looks OK, but no my thing.

X5Matador 03-19-2010 07:33 PM

Wow. :wow: Huge contrast. What ever works for ya, it's your ride.

phattbam 03-19-2010 08:11 PM

They sell stainless steel vinyl.. I have that wrapped on my netbook. pics are compared with my MacBook Pro

I'm just not getting the wrapping thing that seems to be going around. Weird.

inexpensive alternative to trying a new color or texture without having to spend $k's on paint.

bmwman3241 03-20-2010 11:11 AM

Here are all the colors offered by FoilaCar Dubai or Germany:

FoilaCar Color Samples

I have seen lots of these wraps in person, and for the interior trim my choice would be the carbon fiber or brushed aluminum (any color).
If you want to try something different, maybe white carbon fiber!?
And the 3d brushed aluminum is different from the one offered by BMW and looks nice.

What's wrong with having an opinion?

He did post up his project, so with that being done on a public forum, people will have opinions and sometimes they aren't what you want to hear, but you should still respect them. Also, just because we have a different opinion from yours, doesn't mean our lives are boring either!
Had to get that off of my chest and I Apologize for the hi-jack! :beerchug:

Well said, and I agree. And trust me...my life is far from boring. Just because I voiced my opinion, and really dislike the white tape you put on your interior trim, does not make my life, or anyone else's boring!

BGReddy00 03-21-2010 05:07 PM

Thanks for all the comments and honest opinions..like I said before I wasn't too excited when I got it done, but I figured it was worth a shot.

I'm going to leave it for another week then either just go back to the dark wood or try the black carbon fiber..I took a few better pictures today, so everyone can see the contrast and how it looks.

I'm going to have the black pieces on the door painted white, and the X5 logo painted black. I'm still in search for different exhaust tips I'll probably end up just putting the 4.8 tips on the quad are just too long, and rub against the heat shield.

your stormtrooper X5 looks fine.. as long as you dig the mods that's all that should matter.

There's a difference between voicing an opinion, providing constructive criticism and simply making a smart a$$ reply. I had to get that off my chest :nanana:

To OP, I like it when you actually see the whole vehicle. Different perspective.

x1singh 03-24-2010 03:42 PM

Looks good in the new pic's i would keep it

I've found that most of the time, if I do something to a vehicle and it strikes me as so-so and doesn't make me smile when I see it, it comes off. That's just me though!

Big props to you though for trying it! You don't know if you'll like it if you don't try. I tend to give photoshop a workout just for that reason.

You were smart for doing it in wrap. Just imagine all of the work to put it back to OEM if you'd have painted it! :wow:
