Finally pulled the trigger - 2011 35d!
 

I've been lurking on numerous BMW boards and their X5 sections for quite some time and with the release of the 2011 I decided it was time to get one for myself. I've been a BMW owner since 05 and currently have 2, a US Spec 2002 325xit and a Euro Spec 2000 330dt. At one time I had and e36 that was a Euro beater and hadn't been taken care of but I fixed it up a bit and then sold it on.
I placed my order with Pentagon Car Sales here in Italy, have my confirmation and build week so needless to say I'm excited! I ordered a Vermilion Red w/oyster leather, Tech, Sports, Prem Sound, Premium, Rear Climate, Comfort Access and Multi contour seats. I'm not real concerned about the light colored leather too much, my 02 has the light gray interior and it's not that difficult to take care of or clean, just cant let it go too long without a clean and condition.
I'll post pics once it shows up and I'm sure I'll be asking questions and gleaning ideas from all of you that have been in X5s for a while.

Congrats! So how long did the process finally take to get to this point? I'm in the process of ordering one myself I already gave them the down payment just waiting to see what happens next. I have to do everything online though since I'm in Afghanistan I'm guessing it was eiser for you since your there.

It only took me a couple of days once I had the deposit and LOI from my bank. I've got about a month before the final order goes in and no further changes to be made, then the it should be here in late Jun/early July.

Nice; they told me July so far.

My sales rep told me that they are expecting more build allocations for the 35d so my production date could move up. Which would mean my X5 would be here in June for certain. How did you equip yours?

Cool, I'm in no hurry to get it since I don't get back till Aug. I got the 35i Sport/Tech pkg/cold weather pkg/heated rear seats/Conv pkg/primium sound/running boards/3rd row/rear entertainment. Can't wait. Was not really planning on getting one but my 07 got totaled and since I'm over seas might as well take advantage of it.
