How to reset transmission and adaptive throttle in E70?

I have searched but I only found this in E53 forum (which I can't get at right now to provide a link). A member said:

There are (at least) two different resets.

The 25 second reset (holding the throttle pedal down until the transmission beeps, ensuring that the engine is not running at the time) is to reset the transmission shifts, which learn your driving habits over time.

The 10 second reset (turning the ignition on, then off, 10 seconds each, then starting the engine) is to reset the adaptive throttle, which adapts to how aggressively you press the throttle.

These do not appear to work for me in E70. In the first one, in which I assume the key's inserted but engine not running, I never get a transmission beep. In second, there is no indication that this worked or not.

Can anyone confirm the instructions for an E70? On the second one, is there an indication as to whether it's taken effect?

Thanks

I asked the same question on Bimmerfest, but got no replies.

Found this for the 5 series E60 Adaptive Auto Transmission Reset Procedure - bimmerfest - BMW Forums

on another forum a tech posted that the learning transmission is adaptive every time you start the car (and therefore lost when shut off) so technically there's no reset. I believe I pasted his words on this board once, but too lazy to search at the moment.

Man, this would be a bad engineering design, hence I doubt it is true.

I would bet there is a reset via GT1. As far as one the end user can access, I am unsure....

I found it in e53 also, in the hidden features thread. here is the post: http://www.xoutpost.com/319160-post158.html

Here is the thread (some neat stuff in here - e70 has a similar thread but way less comprehensive. Don't know how much of this stuff carries over to e70 but would be awesome if someone wanted to do a full e70 update! I'm still way too much the newbie to even approach such a task but it is a fun idea): {oh, BTW, this is a 41 page thread}: http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...es-e53-x5.html

A few people posted summarized feature lists, here is one of them: http://www.xoutpost.com/324024-post183.html
