Steering Wheel
 

Sorry if I am starting a needless thread. New to this forum and seeking some assistance. Just ordered a 2011 X5 diesel and didn't get the sport package. I prefer the sport package steering wheel though. Is there any after market company that has suitable options to thicken up the non sport wheel? Not so concerned about the aluminum trim. Thanks.

you can try possibly contacting an upholstery shop and see if they can add padding and rewrap it

from what I understand the only diff is the thickens of the wheel and the color of the stripe under the trim - is this correct?

I think the sport wheel has thumb grips too. and the shape of the airbag is sportier.

If you get the heated wheel, this option also thickens it. Still not as nice as the sport wheel, but close enough for me.

That's what I have... It's doable. although I like the shape of the sport wheel but to pay the price for the sports package didn't make any sense since I normally mod my rides with after market wheels and suspension
