Got E60 5-Sereis 528i for a loaner and...
I'm impressed by the body control and composure.
The 5 series seems to have less suspension travel up/down so it feels tauter and slightly nimbler than X5 E70. The X5 3.0 w/o sport package on the other hand feels wallowy and soft in comparison. The X5 doesn't necessarily feel more comfortable either. Another thing I noticed is that the throttle pedal has more resistance in the 5 series than the X5. In the X5 the throttle has almost no resistance and moves almost freely. But the 5 series' pedal feels like it's got a stronger spring. And of course I noticed a lighter steering wheel feel than the X5. But got used to it pretty quickly. Road-feel-wise, both are more or less similar. It's not a 3-series, but for the size, it doesn't disappoint. FWIW, I'm enjoying the vehicle, and it gets me curious what they've done with the F10. |
I got a 535i loaner recently and it was indeed a very nice car. Too bad it has some awkard lines and lights I never warmed up to. Seems like the F10 version is a much better looking car.

E60 = car
E70 = truck E70 with 3.0 & no sport = sad excuse for a truck :rofl: i like the E60 also, but just as i have in my X i think i might personally prefer the 550i. |
