Lux H8 Recall

Just wanted to pass this info if your bought this and didnt get an email. North America Motorsports are recalling some of the LUX H8 LEDs. If you have 4 LED's on each Lux unit you need to send it back to NAM.

The reason for recall is that power supply can fail due to excessive heat causing it to malfunction and potentially cause damage to the vehicle.

You can get a full refund or have them retrofit/repair the unit by extending the wires to the power supply so that it can be mounted externally of the headlight housing. They also will install inline fuse.

I am returning both of mine. I am not in favor of mounting them outside, which could lead to moisture inside the lamp by leak seal due to install. Oh well... back to GP Thunder....

Yeah I agree. I dont like how you have to mount outside which will cause us to modify the cover. Im going to send it in for repair and see what kind of changes will be made. If I dont like it, ill send it back for full refund. The X5 headlight assembly is much larger than the E90's so that can help out with heat issue of the power supply.

I returned mine. Although I liked them, I don't want moisture to seep in and don't need the hassle of a malfunction.
