Help me decide between different models and years...
Currently my main vehicle is a porshe cayenne gts 2008. Perfect in every way besides power and comfort. Best handeling vehicle I have personally ever owned. The pdcc is amazing and the air suspension has been flawless. Raises every single wheel individually. Perfect....
I am wanting a change, and am considering the x5m 2010 or the x5 50 2011 or x5m 2011. Please advise in not only the differences between or why I should go one way or another. I like the ride of the gts and the adjustable suspension. I have 2 kids and a wife. Would like the 3rd row but don't mind the the M cannot have this option. How's seat comfort? I'm 6 feet 2 inches. Back seat comfort/ room for passengers? Cluster display variances? Heads up color differences? Different options detween different models? Vs the 2010/2011? I would opt for the comfort seats in any vehicle. I'm just trying to gather all diffrrences between them so please be as specific as possible. And then after all that tell me if you'd even make the move from porsche to BMW, or is that a step back? I am particular to fit and finish, enjoy stitched leather, comfort access, lighting packages, stuff like that. How the reliability of the BMW X5 models I've mentioned? Will it be in yhe shop alot? You might find this thread has been quiet because not many have picked up the 2011 X's yet, so personal preferences haven't been formed yet.

personally i would go for the 2011 X5M, if money is a non issue of course.
The car is absolutely beautiful and flawless. The only thing i have noticed about these cars is that the side skirt gets rock chips very easily, so before you take it off the lot, get 3M film installed on the skirts and rear trim. The comfort seats are great, handling is superb and speed, well you can be the judge for that. go to the dealership and do a test drive--the 2010 and 2011 are not very different (besides rear tail lights i think) |
I do not think you will find any major differences between 2010 x5m's and 2011 x5m's. Either will be much faster than your gts and if your willing to spend the money on options you can have them any way you please. Your porsche will be better equipped for off roading...but not particularly in gts form. If its pretty leather you want consider ordering individual. If your in love with your cayenne have you considered the new cayenne due out this summer? Bottom line : if your looking for cayenne turbo s stomping power at a 40k discount you have come to the right place.:rofl:

Appreciate all the advice. My gts was $102k when purchased new. Price is always somewhat a concern, don't want to be overly wasteful but just want top luxury and top race all in one.. :)
the gts ride height was great last winter with 5 inches raised from lowest.., very nice. Turning corners at 50 mph was ZeRO body roll with pdcc and for me handled wondefully. I'm after the best Porsche in the cayenne has to offer and what BMW can as well in the x. Just torn between the 50 and the M either 2010 or 2011. Does the M have the 8 speed as well as the 50? What years if so or not? I have thought about the new cayenne 8 speed coming but want more space And more power. No turbo s in the works to equal the current m power. And not close to torque. They are only offering the turbo which isn't enough of an oversaw from my gts to buy different. Think I'm leaning towards the BMW just like yhe input... Keep em coming if you can. I appreciate all insight.. J |
Your best bet would be to go and test drive a ///M. You'll never appreciate the power and fit until you drive one. The only difference to my knowledge will be the tail lights...and the way I see it :wow:, no pepper will get close enough to notice :D ........Phil
