first thousand miles....50i...minor problems....

So 2 weeks and a thousand miles and my car is starting to demonstrate some of the little problems BMW early builds are famous for...

So far

1. Auto tailgate close button has malfunctioned a few times i.e. it will refuse to go down...just closed it manually and locked unlocked and it started functioning again..

2. Found ALL my settings gone twice

3. The front door panel is a bit off on the passenger side door...I would not have noticed it but i heard a vibration when I accelerated from start and when I looked I saw the space between the corner speaker and the side panel was different from the drivers door...will have to take it in for them to reassemble it

4.Rear and top view cameras went out once i.e. I was backing up and everything disappeared....did the whole windows switch off switch on thing and it resolved....

Apart from the door panel which is a build quality issue the rest I think is all electronics/programming.... may prompt me to take it in and have it reprogrammed if it keeps happening ....

All in all not tooo bad..again my last one was an early build and flawless so its a bit disappointing but what can one do I guess....

Otherwise love the car and the engine.... having taken a few exits at some very decent speeds I can say they have tweaked the suspension a decent amount as the handling is noticeably better then my 2007 3.0.....The base sound system is a huge improvement from the base on the 3.0....the comfort seats rock...don't know HOW I lived without them ....new updated i drive is also a huge improvement....as are the improved looks especially with the 336 wheels...the little electronics bugs are bothering me as is the
mis-assembled door panel....

Thanks for the update. Good things to know/be aware of. Best of luck with the electronic gremlins. Probably a lot less than a Range Rover Sport ;)

Love your color combo. Is the 50i available in carbon black? I saw it availible for the 35i sport...

I have the same tailgate issue. You basically have to slam the lower tailgate closed each time or the button won't work to close the top half.
I've taken it in 3 times for this two times I've gotten back functioning normally can't duplicate.

The last time I demonstrated the problem to the SA. When I got the car back they said they lubed and adjusted the latch.

The problem is still there.

Beware of the re-flash. My X was re-flashed to sol e some electronic gremlins.
The dealer bricked my car and it took they and BMW two weeks to figure out what happened and how to fix it.

I finally got the latest and greatest software and for the most part every works. BUT it seems that my gas mileage has decreased a lot; not sure I'd it has anything to do with the re-flash but it's odd it happened right at that time.

I had the same tailgate issue. It turns out I was holding the button on the key a bit too long.

You mean to open it, correct? If I do that the alarm goes off...
