Quick wheel question...

Does anyone know if these wheels will fit on the 2011 X5 19" tires (RFTs)?

Thanks.

the wheels are probably too narrow for the x5 tires. plus the offset of those might not fit too well.

thanks for the info. do you know of anywhere to buy wheels for the 2011 X5?

are you looking for a good deal or just options? some vendors on the forums should be able to get your some reps or your local dealership might be offering promotions. what size are you looking at getting just 19? or open to 20+ ?

wells24 05-22-2010 09:31 PM

just looking for different options. I will have 19s on my X5 but am open to 20s.

phattbam,
i'm new to buying wheels....could you explain why those wheels wouldn't fit the 19" RFTs on the x5? thanks.

one reason those wheels might not fit properly is the width of those wheels will only allow a certain range of width sizes of a tire? if you run too narrow of a tire on a large vehicle the performance may be altered and not be safe. Also I'm not a wheel pro, but the offsets might have the wheels "pushed" in as opposed to flush or close to flush with the wheel fenders. I've seen a few alternatives, I'm usually a custom forged guy when I used to buy wheels for my previous cars. but I've seen some nice designs that might suit your taste. let me dig through my european car magazine I'll be back with some links

Nurburgring Alloy Wheels in matte bronze and gunmetal by TSW Custom Alloy Wheels | TSWalloywheels.com

here's one choice. sporty and similar to more expensive designs.

what design are you looking for? mesh? multi spoke or 5 star?

wells24 05-24-2010 02:22 PM

thanks, i like those a lot. i actually like the matte gunmetal look. i also like the 5 star design.

are you going with 19's or 20's?

wells24 05-24-2010 03:12 PM

19's

phattbam 05-24-2010 03:21 PM

from an online wheel calculator I used. if you go with the 19x9 front you'll have 28mm sticking out.
19x10.5 rear you'll have 40mm sticking out, running 285/45/19 tires

those might stick out a bit beyond your wheel fenders but I'm not sure if you have the fender flares or not.

wells24 05-24-2010 04:38 PM

thanks. are you saying that the front wheels are 19x9 and rear are 19x10.5?

my ca said the tires will be bridgestone 255/50R 19".

phattbam 05-24-2010 04:41 PM

yeah... staggered. if you want to keep the stock tires and not buy new rear spec tires go with 19x9 all around.

thanks for all your help!

no doubt. please confirm with a local shop as well though. just to make sure since the offset specs aren't exactly the same as factory specs.
