for those who are waiting...... got my 2011 35d 2 months after order placement. here are some pics.

The picture you showed is Top view not Side View....

top view, side view, tomato, tamato all i know is it shows the side of the x5 and is pretty cool.

:iagree: I don't see side view cameras next to front wheel well on bumper(pic below with white square).

hmm wonder how those front bumper ones will help park the car if the top view ones visualize the both sides pretty well already.

ummm, actually side view and top view are obviously vastly different...

Don't get me wrong - your X5 looks great.

As others have stated, side view cameras are mounted in the bumpers and allow you to see outwards from the front of the car. Perhaps helpful if coming out between cars or a building.

Top view cameras are mounted in the mirrors. They allow you to have a view immediately around the car. Sometimes helpful if maneuvering in tight spaces.

There are issues about side view availability so having it on your X would be a surprise.
