PDC Volume???
Is there a way to adjust the volume on the PDC? 2008 X5 3.0 Nav
Thanks.... |
humm, is this possible???
|
There should be via iDrive. There is on our 2010. Read the manual.

Not in a 2008.

Page 83 of the owner's manual for a 2008 X5 describes how to adjust the PDC volume. It is listed as an optional item (*).

Can anyone report having adjusted the volume of the PDC or the Gong, so that it is actually quiet in comparison typical human conversation?
FWIW the E70 X5 manuals I've read, indicate that the iDrive volume adjustment for the PDC and Gong is "in comparison to entertainment sound output". IOW it is NOT an absolute volume adjustment; it is a relative volume adjustment. And in my experience, even after setting it to the lowest volume available and having the "entertainment sound output" SILENT, it is still annoyingly LOUD :( Talon Dancer |

I wish it had a setting to automatically turn off the PDC immediately after one started driving forward (instead of having to drive 100+ feet for it to turn off)... |

FWIW since our X5 does not have NAV, we can adjust the volume of the seat belt gong. BUT as I reported in my previous post, even at the lowest settings the gong is still annoyingly loud. Funf Dreisig |
is there a way to reduce the volume via coding?

i found a 3series coding site that said they have had success with the following code:
Control unit: PDC for e65, e60, RR1, e70, LAUTSTAERKE_HINTEN wert_02 to wert_07 haven't tried it yet though.. |
possible:
Code:
LAUTSTAERKE_HINTEN SOUND VOLUME REAR |
hm...no e70?

Those LAUTSTAERKE options, as listed in post above, are there for the E70/E72/E72... |
Of coarse not...
that would be way to simple... /sarcasm |
Thanks for checking:)
I talked to my service advisor and he said if there is no option in the menu, then you can't adjust it.... basically, deal with it... |

my SA had told me many lies - no, no TV option ever in BMW (then i have it installed), no, no BT in your year model, then i have it installed... my point is - the function still might be there but the name may have changed or abbreviated... i have found a bixenon function in E53 that was spelled BIX instead of normal BIXENON |
I don't doubt it nor do I listen to them most of the time. There has to be a way! it was quieter before.
