Internet Browsing on the Nav in US?
On bmwusa.com website x5 (Explore the new x5 section) shows the google homepage on the 2011 nav screen.
See the image here: BMW North America Is there internet connectivity on the nav??? Sorry if I'm late to the party on this one, haven't heard of it before. |

It's limited to google maps and then pretty much to business searchs.
But it works pretty well, much better in fact in fact than the built in search in the Nav. There's also a gas price search that works pretty well and has proven to be useful (at least to me) You can also get weather info and some news but the new feature is mostly lame... Oh, and you can see what the market is doing. Plus you can send yourself (and anyone else you want) an emial that shows on google maps where you car is when you sent the mail and, where you're going if you have a destination set in the Nav. If we had connected drive here in the states there's a few other options that are there now but don't do anything... Not sure why we don't have connected drive here, but it would be nice if we did... |

I actually was able to try it one time on my 2010 X5d, its cool to have it but not sure if its worth the price, i mean i have my iphone, those extra features(weather, stocks, news, google) comes free with my iphone... When i tried to access it again the 2nd time, they blocked my access... |
