Can 750li wheels fit on E70 X5?
Hello,
I am looking for a way to fit a set of 21" style 128 wheels that were 2008 750li take offs on my E70 X5 3.0si. They are 21x9 fronts, and 21x10 rears. The tire sizes are 245/35/21(front) and 285/30/21(rear). We took them to the tire shop today and tried to mount them on, but they would not go on the hub ring. I have heard of the spacer or hub rings that can be used to fit these, but couldn't find any info about that online. Dealership isn't being very helpful either. Can someone please share their knowledge, it would help us out a lot. Thanks in advance!! |
Will not work. Different bore size.
7-series - 72.56mm E70 X5 - 74mm You will have bore all wheels from a machine shop. Not worth it. Go with style 128 21" made for E70 X5. |
Thanks for your input. The thing is that I really like to get this set of wheels, and I already found a machine shop that can bore them. Are there any other things I should watch out for? I mean the tire size, offset, and stuff like that. I was told by the tire shop that the wheels are about an 1" shorter in the overall diameter than the original 18" wheels with 255/55/18 tires that I have on right now. They said that isn't such a big deal. Please advise. Thanks again!

Tires are definately too small and the offsets are off. The wheels would need spacers, like lemans said not worth it.

Btw what were they charging you to bore out the wheels ?
|
75-100 per wheel. Do you know how much the spacers are, and what if i didn't use them, would the wheels be sitting way too inside of the fender or something? The reason I'm so persistent at this, is because i think I can get a really good deal on the wheels.

Wheel adapters with spacers
No guarantees but these might work for you:
BMW 5x120 74mm Center Bore to 72.5mm Center Bore H&R Wheel Adapters 20mm (BMW / E39 / BMW E39 H&R Wheel Adapters) |
Nice product. Curious if it is possible to go the other way. If I wanted to fit E53 wheel (72.5) to fit X5 E70 (74mm) AND I want to bring the wheels out by 20mm. Is there a BMW spacer that will solve both?

I've thought of using 7er wheels as well, but then the wheels' are narrow vs the x5's. Might not look right and/or perform the same even with the correct tire specs, Not proven just speculation

Wheel style 128.
I just received my wheel style 128 made for '09 7 series, I tried to fit-mount them without tires..And gues what?? They fit like a glove. the offsets which are 25mm all. didn't even stick out that much at all, they are right at the fenders. I will post picture soon when they are tire mounted. They look awesome. I love the 87s, but these are the new bad ass!!
They are 20x9 and 20x10. the following pictures are not my X, but they are the wheels. http://www.xrims.com/imgs/dynamic/ma...Picture010.jpg http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/attach...1&d=1260594982 http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/att...k-no-plate.jpg Just a reminder, my bore sizes are identicals to that of the 7 series. |
oh yeah.. that 5er touring is one of the nicest I've seen sitting on factory wheels.
