Warped Pass. Airbag Cover - 07 x5 4.8
 

Just as I'm thinking about replacing my 07 4.8 with a 2011 x5 Diesel, I notice that the airbag cover has warped and bent upwards. I'm guessing this is from the heat of living in Florida, but what would make it warp after 3 years?

I have no doubt that the dealer will replace this under warranty, but was curious if anyone else ran into a similar problem.

PS - Besides the transmission shift problem (software update), this is the only problem i've had with the X5. The finish is peeling around the steering wheel controls, but that's about it.

I believe this isn't your airbag cover but the lid of the dashboard storage cubby. This week someone else also mentioned this problem.

Yes, looked exactly like that, no problem with warranty replacement. Interestingly mine is almost always garage kept, so it was not over-sun.
