It is nice to see someone making an effort to learn how to perform some maintenance on their car. Way to go DWill! I actually enjoy changing the oil, brakes, spark plugs, etc. You will feel good when the job is done.

Why not hit a dlr, pay the $150, get it done and go on your trip...
For the next change, you can re-read the good info, take your time,
and do the DIY.

Imo, trying stuff out, while up against it time-wise and w/out
prior experience, often results in a screwed up situ...

I agree with you.

However I'm not leaving untill the 22nd. So I have a little time to sort through this. I was leaving sooner, like the 18th. But this little thing known as work caused me to reschedule.

Anyway, hopefully I won't; but if I do break something and can't get it fixed in time…. Well there's always the 10 X5M sitting next to the 3.0. :)
