Is this a good deal?
Cross posted this in the M forum too...
What do you guys think about this deal? There is an "executive" X5 M on the lot. Was the dealership owners car. 3500 miles. 92k sticker. I have 5 months left on my M5 @ $1700 / month lease. I can walk away from my M5 lease and pay sticker on the X5 M. So, they are basically taking $8500 off of msrp by paying my lease and taking in the car. |
interesting, what are the options on the truck? the only thing that would worry me about the X5M is that it may have not been broken in right (first 1000 miles driving softly). Can u post up the link to the car?
and if the dealer is being this "nice" about it, it means they are trying to get rid of the car fast, i bet you can get a better price |
No way, bad deal - remember you are buying a *used* car here. It was $92k sticker 3,500 miles ago, but not anymore.
Tell them you'll buy the x5M if they payout your lease. If they say yes, then start negotiating the price on the M. Is it 2010 or 2011? If it's 2010, they should be giving you a much better deal on it because the LCI M is already out. If it's 2011, then someone put a lot of miles on it in a very short period of time, and I'd be weary. |
It's a 2010.
Here's what options it has: Premium sound Rear climate Comfort access Power tailgate Cold weather They then had $2000 on the car because the wheels are powder coated to a gunmetal color. So total was $92,200 or something like that. |
I priced those out on an x5M 2011 (minus the powder coat)
MSRP: $90,575 Invoice: $83,355 (+Ad+MACO) You should be able to order it new (2011) for ~ $85k plus you will get the LCI taillights. We both live in OC, send me a PM I'll give you the name and email of my CA and you can give her a try... |
usually if its a demo car("executive" like u stated) they should run a special on it, since its a 2010 & 2011 is already out and this 1 has some miles on it( you'll be amazed how much of a price drop with a car is driven out the dealer lot, even if has 2 miles on it afterward. i seen X5M go for 80k with around that millage. but i dont think they r giving u a deal. i think they r asking around 84k for it. so basically $84,000 + $8,500( wat u owe for the M5) comes out $92,500 and thats wat they r trying to do to u.. to sell it to u & make u pay for ur M5 and call it a deal.

I was offered an 2010 XM demo with a 93K sticker and 4,000 miles for $77,500.
Check around. |
Anybody have auction prices on the 2010's?
|
I saw a used one at nashville BMW (sold now) for $76 loaded pretty much the same and had 4200 miles. You can do better.
|
I bought a new 2010 X5M listed for 92K and change for 81K with no miles on it. You can do much better on a 2010......Steve

There were a few executive X5 Ms out there for high $77-79K. Keep looking, or get a way better deal. Ask for $10K off and have them buy your lease out as well. |
Oh yeah, its about $125-150 a wheel to get them powder coated. Dont fall for that $2000 mark up crap. Dealers....
|
So do you guys think having them cover the rest of lease and then offering $80k is reasonable?
|
Well, their latest offer is to pay off the $8500 on my lease and sell me this X5 M for $89,000. Not that great? right?
|
IMO you're better off waiting till your lease runs out on your M5, i mean its summer so the M5 is great. then, you can get a 2011 X5M with the same mileage for the same price at that time.
