2011 X5 35i MPG?

Can one of you 2011 X5 35i owners let me know what the estimated mpg's are on the sticker for your X? It's not listed on bmwusa.com. What are you getting in real world driving? I'm most interested in hwy.

Thanks in advance.

X5 35i
17/25 I would say closer to 13 city in real life. I haven't done much Hwy driving yet.

for a second i thought the post was about an X5 that got 35mpg. the I would most likely average 19mpg

I've got 9,000 miles on my 2010 35d. I have not reset the average fuel mileage yet. I'm getting 24.2 combined city/highway over 9k miles.

I wonder how that compares real world to the 35i

That sounds about right. My 4.8 is suppose to get 14/19 with a combined of 16. But I average about 12 or 13 on a tank of mixed driving. Read in Roundel today that the 35i goes as fast as the outgoing 4.8. So i wouldn't be surprised that the fuel in real life is lower than 17.

But a lot also depends on how you have the car setup too. I'm running 21's with 3rd row seats and extra infant car seat and a stroller. That's bound to affect gas mileage.

It really depends on how heavy footed you are when driving. My wife doesn't seem to care about accelerating like a bat out of hell so she gets above 17mpg in the city. I like to stomp on the accelerator so obviously I'm closer to 13-14mpg.

35i MPG

I have averaged 21.9 for 5,000 miles. Best was a 300 mile trip 25.2 mpg.

The low mileage I'm seeing isn't with aggressive driving. Though I've noticed that there's not too much change from driving a slightly aggressively. It's only when I'm flooring it all the time where the mileage drops more. The low mileage is really attributed to waiting at lights.

Here are my numbers so far compared to the X5 35d which I had for 11,000 miles. My 35i is still a little new to have completely broken in (3,000 miles).

City Driving Mix (50/50) - 22.9 35d 19.5 35i
Freeway 70 - 85 MPH - 24.5 35d 22.5 35i

The 35d was around 2 MPG worse during the winter on the winter diesel blends.

These numbers are averages for now, I'll have better 35i data in 6 months.
