'08 3.0 front end feels "light"

My '08 has ~18k on the odometer and after using it as a DD (120 miles a day) for the last 3 months, the front end feels "light" as if the tires are over inflated and the run flats are making a lot of noise.

Does anyone else have a similar situation? Is the suspension just "breaking in"? are the EMT's just exhibiting normal behavior after 18k miles? or do you think something is broken or about to break like the front diff or steering rack?

Yes, I'm going to take it in to service, but would rather not if it's just normal behavior for a X5 of this age and mileage.

Any aby-normal tire wear?

Nope, the correct brain is in the monster and both fronts have plenty of tread wearing evenly.

Beuller?

If nothing is worn I'd just have an alignment done whenever the tires are due for change. The toe in may be getting to the neutral side of the spectrum, along with possible lower rolling resistance from aging tires... could be just adding up to a lighter feel.

Thanks Weasel.

I made an appt to have it checked, hopefully it's nothing serious.

The swaybar links were loose so they were replaced.

Overall the suspension still feels soft, but that could just be the runcraps ageing.

Wow that is odd but I'm glad they found something.

It's very odd. I asked how common it was and was told it wasn't. I still think that there is a shock or spring issue, I'll see how it drives today to/from work.

Have an '08 3.0,with 19k. Same issue. I do know that the rear tires (Bridgestones) but not the front ones, have cupped. They are getting noisy. I have had the car aligned twice now. I am skeptical about the solution offered. At 18k miles, I don't think there should be noticeable wear in suspension parts unless you drive over rough roads. I will probably replace the Bridgestones soon, before winter. I'll see what difference that makes.
