Picking Mine Up Tomorrow! Question...

I'm finally picking my 35d up tomorrow. We've been waiting since June for it. I spoke to the dealership and told them to be sure to have both DEF tanks full, not just one and have the latest software loaded. Does anyone have any recommendations as to things I should do/check prior to signing the dotted line? Anything in particular that is supposed to be included or common problems to check over? Ours will be AW 35d with Nav, Premium Sound, Comfort Seats, Cinnamon Interior, Sport Package with 214's, Cold Weather, Premium, and Nappa Dash. Thanks!

Learned this one the hard way. Check your running boards for this yellow ooze coming out of any of the corners of all 4 doors. Its called Oxypropyl or Oxycyclene or Oxysomething (forgot). It's like a messy goo and supposedly comes with the vehicle covered with it from the factory, and they are supposed to clean it out at the prep center then the detailer is supposed to clean whatever is leftover.

Since it's been hot lately, any missed gunk in the doors has been melting and seeping out and it will discolor your running boards. Open all 4 doors and check the bottom corners for this stuff. Even after I took delivery there was some still there but I cleaned it all out or I would give you some pics of what to look for.

And last but not least - tell us if you get a cargo cover!

Ah! That explains the trails of that stuff I found on the rocker panels in June. I took delivery last November, but apparently the stuff comes-out when it gets hot outside.

Make sure your Sirius radio is activated and the Nav works.

P.S. Here's a link to a checklist which is exceedingly comprehensive. Far beyond what I did. But you can print it out and pick and choose from the list:

Penguin did it discolor your rocker panels? Mine didn't come off cleanly and left a stain, the dealer sent out a plastics specialist and he said he could resurface them but I didn't want that on a brand new vehicle so the dealer agreed to replace the entire rocker panel on both sides... crazy but true.

Sort of. But a lot of work with alcohol, plastic cleaner, and 303 plastic protector got rid of the discoloration.

Wow you have a lot of patience... I thought about working on mine but i feel that I'll rub the texture off and it will look uneven

Thanks for all the input. I'll keep those things (and checklist) in mind.

Mine just got replaced due to discoloring due to weather. It's a 2009. Apparently there is a SI B on it and the course of action is to replace them. All covered under warranty free of charge.

Yes, please let us know if you get a cargo cover... my client advisor told me it's no longer standard and I asked to check again... :(

Michael.
