Anti-Roll Stabilizer Bar

Hi Everyone,

I bought a 2007 CPO'd X5 3.0i with Sport Pack. As a result it has anti-roll stabilizer bar. I was hear a slight creaking sound (it wasn't horrible) but wanting to get the most bang for my warranty, I took it in. Well it's still in the shop about 4 days now and is now awaiting an anti-roll / dynamic drive stabilizer bar. They replaced the upper strut mount and sway bars as well under warranty..

Problem is, the Stabilizer bar is coming from Germany so will be a few more days (prob into next week).

Anyone else had this issue? Did they update the part to resolve this problem from reoccurring or did I just buy extra life with the part swap out?

Thanks!

I think I answered my own question, but going to post here in case people have issues in future on same thing.

There was a Service Bulletin that came out "SI B 37 01 07"

SUBJECT
Knocking Noise from Front Suspension
MODEL
E70 (X5) with Sport Package Option Code ZSP
SITUATION
The customer may report a knocking or clunking noise coming from the front end of the vehicle while driving over bumpy roads or when making abrupt left or right turns.
CAUSE
The noise may be caused by a faulty spring accumulator for the front axle sway bar.
CORRECTION

In order to determine the source of the noise, remove the fuse for the Dynamic Drive (ARS) and drive
the vehicle.

If the noise is still present, please work through the related diagnostic path as described in Repair Instruction, RA 37 90 ... "Troubleshooting on Dynamic Drive (ARS)".

If removing the fuse for the ARS eliminates the noise, then replace the stabilizer bar as per Repair
Instruction, RA 37 11 010 "Removing and installing/replacing front active stabilizer".

Replacement stabilizers no longer utilize an external accumulator (1). Whenever a stabilizer with an external accumulator (1) is
replaced, then the ARS module must be recoded.

The necessary coding for the ARS module is available in
Progman under Retrofits by selecting "Stabilizer". After completing the Progman session, perform the Dynamic Drive Start Up Test, using DISPlus or GT-1.

Looking at RealOEM, two part numbers were ended:

37104051997
37116781636

is now replaced by:

37116783037

Interesting bit of information, thanks for sharing. I am now concerned, with all the high tech. in the X5 especially the dynamic drive, maintenance can become extremely expensive.

I have a popping noise coming from the front passenger suspension and feels like something is hitting the car floor.. I removed the DSC fuse as ista says then there is no more noise.. Can I be 100% sure is the ARS bar ? The noise happens when making sharp turns and driving in spiral.. car has 70k but seems like I have the old ARS since mine is 01.2008 and the updated part# came out after 04.2008..
Has anyone else replaced these just because of the popping noise ?
