I won't buy a car that was driven in the North or Northeast. I have my eye on 2 in Los Angeles right now and one here in TX.

FYI - in case you don't know and are looking at CPO, 07 and 08 X5's qualify for 0.9% financing until the end of the month (not sure one the term 0.9 is good for), they also have the make your first 3 payments for you on CPO cars also, but it doesn't appear to apply to the X5, only hte financing does.

Yeah I know--the 0.9% is only for 24 months or you get the 3 months or you get the warranty. I think most take the warranty.

If you have good credit and put the insurance check down, you'll get a good rate. My 60 month rate for an 07 CPO was 3.19%...

I'm not going to put $14K down on a used car--I would rather pocket the money and then just do a re-fi of the loan like in a year.

Well I decided to keep the insurance check and go $0 down on a CPO. I would love to get a 50i but 1) in this economy I want to stash the money 2) I keep my cars 8-9 years and the twin turbo is not tested--too much of a risk + I've test driven one and I don't think I would have any doors left on it after a few years 3) coming from a 3.0 the 4.8 is still a big jump in performance.

I put a deposit down last night on the following at BMW of Beverly Hills--it has everything but HUD and Active Steering. Original MSRP was $75K. They had it listed at $51K and just dropped it on Thur to $48K. And they just put on 4 new run-flat tires as part as CPO and it just came in off of lease.

'08 4.8 Jet Black/Black (I only wanted Jet Black)
Only 16K miles
Sport
Premium
Multi-contour seats (never sat in them but hear they are nice)
20" wheels
Rear Climate
Heated Seats
Running Boards (I will be selling these so if anyone is interested PM me)
Premium Sound (I love music--am curious as to how the subs sound)
3rd Row Seat (I didn't have a choice in this one--can these be removed?)
Rear DVD Entertainment

The only '08 CPO in the country that is as loaded as this one is in San Luis Obispo---their price is $1K less than mine but theirs has 40K miles on it. I think I got a good deal. I will post pics once I get it.

Sounds like a great find!

I'm also glad that Allstate took care of you, and from the sounds of it, exceeded your expectations on what you'd get for your vehicle.

While you never want to see something like that happen to someone, I'm glad that your X5 took care of and protected you when you needed it the most!

Congrats on the new car!!

Thanks. I've had Allstate for like 16 years and they have been great. I grew up in Chicago which is where their HQs are.

Here are a few dealer pics (pics never made it online I put a deposit down before they put it out there).
