It is only on the new Harddrive based navigation systems. You have a DVD based system

I apologize. I figured that the F11 nav system would be the same as the E70 nav system. I had a F11 for 8 days straight and it automatically switch between day and night automatically when the live traffic alerts were not on. BMW is sooo stupid, why would you have basically the same systems with different functionality. You think it would be a way to create a common set of features.

I spent an afternoon in the new 550i (not at a driving event, but on my own). Very nice car but didn't meet my needs. I realllly wanted it to though. I'm super happy with the X5 5.0i though and don't regret for a second the choice or anything I might have given up in the switch. |

My SA said that the X5/X6 5.0 is becoming very popular because it now has a much better performance level than than 4.8. He said a lot of his dealership clients are moving from their current 545/550 series to the X5/X6 for more functionality. :dunno: |

Hey UK Wildcat.....how do you switch between day and night mode on the X5 navigation? Thanks.
|
So just to confirm, if I turn off the traffic alert on my 2011, the screen will automatically switch to night time mode?
Thanks |
Ok I have put my foot in my mouth. Now that I have my 11 the day/night switch does not happen automatically. I figured that the new F11 and the new nav in the E70 which is identical in every way would support this feature but it infact does not. You have to go under settings screen in the nav to switch between night and day. I am sure it is one lousy line of computer code.
If(LIGHTSENSOR = FALSE) { visual=DARKSKY;} else {visual=DAYSKY} Thank you BMW that will be 15k for the solution. |
