check this tread, the vendor said it is in packaging on oct 2007, 3 years later still not sending out, what do u think ?

It was supposed to be ready on August 30th, then they pushed to October 30th. Not holding by breath.

Lol, no one takes two years to develop speakers. This product is obviously not coming.

I emailed them 2 days ago, and got this response:

No ETA just yet.

Correction: That response was to my inquiry about having an e70 X5 subwoofer package available.

Don't worry, on October 30th they will update the website to say December 31st.

Shame. I put their speakers in my M3 and was very pleased. Sad to see them drop the ball on this one.

Thank you for the kind words. We do not release systems that do not work or do not provide proper upgrades. We prototype, test and retest. If we are not happy we redo it.

In this case we have found BMW used different drivers in the X5 that required additional tooling to properly plug and play and bolt in. This prevented a problem. We have drivers that work but we want them to be bolt in. We don't want adapters, spacers or anything like that to be needed. The X5, Z4 and X3(as well as others) use the same physical speaker but they have different mounts and this we need to match.

The complete line up for the 3 Series was finished and BMW did the whole "Base Audio" release and this shifted focus away from the X5 package. The 3 Series package just based off shear potential customers got priority and delayed the X5 package. Obviously a penalty that you as X5 customers received but we are small and cannot have a lot of projects going at once. We do our best and most of the time we fulfill them all in time!

We are working on it. I can assure you guys. We want to have a package as much as you guys do. I can assure you of that!

We actually have another X5 coming in for testing. We have drivers that fit, plug in and sound great. Doing final testing :)

any updates, delay or will the products be ready by 10/30/2010?

Unfortunately as it looks right now I do not think they will be shipping by or on 10/30.

Can BSW please let us know when the X5 E70 package will be ready for shipment ?

^^ Shocked! Are they an upgrade on the speakers used with the premium sound? I know the ones in the E46 were.

Excellent.....web site doesnt show what's included for the "Base Audio" system Upgrade...can you add some details?

I ordered in January and at that time it didn't look like the Center Channel speaker was included in the upgrade but the rep was supposed to get back to me on this when they came in.

Here is what I ordered:
BSW Stage 1, BMW E70 X5 HiFi (BSW.S1.E70.HF-Kit)

If this doesn't include a center channel or a center channel isn't available at a nominal add'l charge then I'm going to cancel my order as most sound is through the center.

That is correct you do not have OEM Tweeter Mounts(or the tweeters there). Our upgrade will not only replace your 4" speakers currently present but we include the trim pieces, mounts, brackets etc to mount tweeter. Of course we include the tweeters as well.

So Base Audio you will receive both the midranges and the tweeters. And the pieces to complete the install.

You are correct as with the E46. Premium sound means you get more speakers, more power and it is run through the same low quality garbage speakers. It sounds 'better' because it has more volume and more low end... same poor sound.

We can definitely fix a Logic7 equipped vehicle and fix it up nice. The best thing about the L7 system is BMW finally put some power behind it. This means there is some decent umph pushing the speakers and dropping in our upgrades component set will really let it shine!

Good news on incremental tweeters added to the basic system (that's very nice)...now i wish i would have pre ordered last month....just got gun shy as i had read it had already been pending for 2 years and the date kept moving out....glad it's finally done, now just have to figure out if i want to pull the trigger at full price....either way, kudo's for what appears to be a good upgade.
