Is there anything i can do to make my X5 handle better

thats one of the most open questions..

and obviously it depends on what you plan on using the vehicle for..

if your talking about performance driving you can get sways, struts, stiffer suspension, lowering the car for lower centre of gravity, high performance tyres.. sky's the limit..

but then again why would you want to..its an x5..not a sports car.. not to say that it isnt fun to take for a squirt around the twisties..

no tracking for me with X but just want it to handle better for ex: getting on a sharp ramp leading into a highway or something like that..

You can certainly lower it a little and beef up the sway bars, ultimate answer is to get one with Adaptive drive.

Ultimate answer might actually be to take 1000 lbs of that road-hugging weight out of it.

Agree that it isn't a sports car, and few things are going to make it handle much better than it already does.

This! If you knew that you wanted handling, you should have gotten adaptive drive.

I REALLY like the way my 4.8i handles with the Sports Package and the 20" wheels. I have Active Steering too. I've not driven another SUV yet that handles as well as this model (although I'm sure there are such as the high-end Porsche or MB models).

You may want to look into what the Sports Package adds and see if there's any mods that appear to be worth the expense.

get a M5 lol, or x5 M

First up strip everything out that you don't need. All the extra seats, the audio system, any electric motor that drives something not important. Then replace all the body panels with carbonfibre panels and all the glass with motor-sport grade perspex or polycarbonate.

Seriously, there's only so much you can do.

The X weighs on the dark side of 2000kg and that's that. You can change suspension components or the wheel/tyre package to achieve flatter cornering and sharper turn-in but these changes can have a negative impact on the ride quality and comfort, and can even have a negative impact on handling on poor-quality roads. The factory Adaptive Drive is a good bit of gear but I assume it can't be retro fitted.
Either way the X5 is about as good as it gets in terms of SUV/4WD handling.

It's a truck. It is going to handle like a truck. :dunno:

Unless you decide to spend an absurd amount of money, you won't get very far with better handling. Just drive it the way BMW designed it -- a truck with decent performance.
