Fender flare question
So I got a 2011 X5 35d with sport package and 19" wheels (so my wheels are not staggered and I do not have the extended fender flares)
So I want to get some 22's, my options are: 1) get same sized front and rear 22x10 (285/35/22 tires) and that should be fine without fender flares, right? 2) Get staggered wheels 9.5 front, 11 rear with 275/35/22 and 315/30/22, add fender flares, right? 3) Get same sized front and rear 22x10 (285/35/22 tires), run spacers and fender flares, right? |
Also where can i get body colored fender flares kinda like on the m-sport kit?

Which wheels are you looking at buying? I highly recommend adding the flares and going with wider wheels, it really helps the look of the X5. You can probably get the flares, parts and install for around $400 out the door.
I say go for the 22" x 9.5" front and 22" x 11" rear setup with the wide 315 rear tires. You can paint the plastic flares if you wish but they could chip over time if not prepped and painted properly and then also they won't match the rest of the black plastic mouldings on the bumpers and running boards. |
I just did the rear flares on mine and like the look - with the 214's I am running flares in the rear and 18mm spacers and they are pretty close to flush - on the front, no spaces and the stock flares for the 19's and they sit nice and flush, so didn't bother with the wider front ones as it would make them look more tucked in.
