iphone 4 cradle

Any news on the cradle for the iPhone 4? I have searched and haven't found any. Trying to decide whether to order my x5 with smartphone integration or not. If no cradle, then why bother? Thoughts?

Smartphone integration.

is there a port for the smartphone integration that can still be used with a USB cable without requiring the snap-in-adapter?

Good question rtcage. Anyone know the answer?

Since I'm about to order, I would really appreciate some detailed feedback on the smartphone integration. Sound like it may be worth it but details are sketchy. Price is $150 + the cradle (which I believe runs around $150). So total of $300 for what? From what I can gather, it simply adds a connection to the antenna.

Well, just in time for me to decide I don't want to plug in my iPhone 4. :)

(I always forget and leave it in the car)

I see they have an iPod adapter - does anyone know how it fits with the latest (4th gen) iPod Touch?

I have an iPhone 4 and a 2011 X5 35D. Bluetooth works fine, as does the iPod connector.

An error pops up on the iPhone saying that "the accessory you're trying to use is not approved for use for this device."

Just ignore that error. You can browse your song library on your iPhone 4, just fine.

I also ordered the smart phone integration cradle, but I've yet to order the iPhone snap-in adapter. Frankly, the iPhone 4's reception is so much better than the iPhone 3, I replaced, I have no need for the adapter.

It's nice to know it's there, and I'm sure it will help with resale. I think it's worth the $150.00, but as far as "requiring it" to access the iPhone 4's music features, that can be done through the iPod 4 cable. It's damn expensive at $400.00, but it does allow you to quickly browse your iPhone's music files.

It's a bit cumbersome, but it works great, once you get a feel for the interface.

Good luck!

Sorry if I wasn't clear.. (reading it again, it wasn't - my bad)

So I started using my iPhone 4 for music in the car and that works just fine.

But I decided to get a new iPod instead and KEEP it in the car, because I was always forgetting my phone in the car when I had to plug it in (to get to the music, etc.) the iPod battery lasts much longer and it holds twice as much music.

(and all my tunes are Apple Lossless, so..)

How does the current iPod adaptor work in the smartphone cradle? Does it fit well and work with everything or no?

(and.. there's no "this device is not optimized" message with the iPod either.. not that it's really a problem)

Yes. There's s USB port and you can plug your phone in to that.
