I'm a big fan of the X, but it sounds like you are trying to talk youself into one instead of going for what you really want. And the wagon is certainly practical enough for kids, especially when they are younger.

Lol about getting what I want, I'm just conflicted b/c I've been loyal to BMW for the last decade...almost seems like I'm cheating! ;)

I actually don't think I've ever seen a CTS-V of amy kind on the street so I'm not worried about that aspect!

I'd be tempted. It would do quite well at VIR. I'd luv to pass a 911 with an X5. I passed plenty with an '08 550i.

Oh yeah, they do just fine :-)
There is a lot of understeer but it's still very capable
