Do you know of anyone else who experienced issues like this because of a weak battery? |
Here, this might save you some money if you give this to the mechanic:

But you will spend $140 to $420 for this to be checked out, since you are not a DIYer, right? And you have a 2007 with a battery that is probably at least 4 years old...how long do YOU think that battery will last? 5 years? It WILL need to be replaced soon, so by dropping a new battery in you eliminate one POTENTIAL issue, and won't spend an extra hour for the dealer to tell you "your battery was also failing as well as a short, and we spent an hour diagnosing the battery and another hour to replace it, so $600 for a new BMW battery". But I am also going to see if the batter is old and definitely change it first thing... |

The battery might not be the problem, but at that age it makes sense to simply replace it to eliminate it as a cause. There are some tests you can do with a voltmeter to test the battery condition, but if you're not a DIYer, then at that age replacing it is a good idea, if only as a preventative measure. |
wow
i have the same year truck. I'm gonna have to keep this in mind just in case this does happen to my X5 too and also GOODLUCK! I hope you get your car fixed asap.
