Finally picked up my "special" X5d

I'm not a SUV/SAV type of guy but I must admit I'm pretty impressed with the X5. I've been tracking cars (mainly M3's) for over 15 years now and if you told me that the X5 would handle similarly, I would have thought you were crazy.

I'll write up a review some time in the future I guess. picked it up the 29th of December. Rather than list all the options, let's just say it has every option except rear entertainment. Note: Active Ventilated seat option is not available in nappa leather so I did not get it and probably would not have anyway since I was never impressed with it. There are 3 additional options, one of which you cannot see. Let's see if you can spot the other two. The third is soft close doors.

Cheers.

I'm guessing you got the adaptive drive to go along with the Sport activity package? I can't make out what the 5th button is for.

Yes I did get adaptive drive. Pretty impressed with it too.

How much of a premium did it take to get those non-standard options? And I assume they required a non-refundable deposit of some sort? I'm always curious how these things work.

Nice, congrats!
I too have the beige nappa, it always draws comments. I've done the Tail of the Dragon (318 curves in 11 miles) with the X5. M3s and M6s had to work hard to pull away.

I also see the Nappa leather dash. Whats the rightmost button for on the stack just above the cup holders? I only have 4, the last one being to pop the trunk, I see you have 5?

BMW Individual Figured Eucalyptus Red Brown Wood was $925
BMW Individual High End Audio (aka: EPS in the US) was $2050
Soft close automatic doors were $625

The nappa is really really nice but pricey too. In fact, I think it's the leather used on the Alpina B7 - which says a lot.

I don't think that's a standard wood for the X5. Looks like the "Red brown grained wood trim" from the X5M/X6M. Very nice looking!

You've also got the sideview cameras, which aren't on the configurator but is something folks have been able to order if they know to ask.

side view camera. imo, it can be useful in limited circumstances but since it was only $300 it wasn't that bad in the scheme of things.
