Playing movies in E70
Was wondering why I wasn't able to play a DVD movie in the DVD drive. I have a few friends with DVD drives in their cars and they can play DVD (only while parked). I couldn't even play a movie parked. Is this a feature blocked by BMW and a way for them to get you to purchase the entertainment package? I guess the DVD drive is solelyfor the Navigation?

It works for me. I've got an '11 with the Premium Sound if that matters.

I know it works on the 2010+ vehicles. Not sure about the older ones.

Works for me in both x5's.

sure i heard it was only in 2008 model onwards ??

KREED,
Yes, you can definitely play movies while parked! I was finding that they would only play sometimes in my 2008 X5 and, after speaking to the SA, I found out why. You have to have parking lever ON -- by design it's not supposed to work if you're just in park (although that does sometimes work). |

Didn't work in my center DVD slot and my changer doesn't say DVD on the outside of it. What year is your X?

only in the rear, in the front you need to rewire the system, any BMW tech can help you do it offline

Works in my 2009 X5... However in the glove box DVD changer, not the nav CD nor music CD. Mine works while in park w/o brake ingaged. I would like to get it to work while driving.... Any thoughts?

I figured talking, texting, checking email, & surfing the web, etc., on smart phones, was enough fun while 'driving'? |
Been there, done that. It gets old and it's useless. In the rear seats I like it for my daughter. I have no desire to look like every other Tahoe and Expedition with more TV's than passengers. Ghetto.
