Idrive Reboot no Nav Button for 3 finger Reboot??
Have seen this question asked repeatedly, but I have yet to find the answer. Does anyone know how to reboot the idrive if you dont have a nav system? I have tried just mute and CD eject, but does not work. Any suggestions appreciated. Will have dealer deal with it, but in the meantime, would like to attempt quick fix.

Pardon me being dumb, but..
Why would you need to reboot it? Is turning the car off and on NOT a reboot? Sorry, not suggesting that's a solution, I'm just trying to understand the problem.. (yeah yeah.. pesky engineers..) |

Because it freezes up. I can move dial left to right and rotate, but I pushing the button is does nada. It just sits there. So while I have only had this CPO for less than a week, the iDrive has been hosed since. Turning on off doesnt fix and apparently there was some method of doing a hard reboot by pressing various buttons on the radio which discretely rebooted the iDrive and sometimes alleviated this issue for others. I dont have a dvd, so the recommended method of holding down the pause dvd and cd simultaneously is not applicable to my vehicle and I wanted to see how to do this reboot without a DVD button to push. I have tried pushing the mute in by itself for 25 seconds, then for a full minute, same with pushing mute and cd eject and no reboot. So my latest question was whether the vehicle had to be off, etc, although I have tried that as well. Question moot now as i dropped my iDrive POS off at dealer for this and the Transmission software update since the trans is very choppy
