Removal Diagram: E70 X5 Center Console: Help

Long Story Short:

- Change SOMEWHERE in the center console by the shifter.
- Stealer wants to charge me 3 hours of labor to find.
- Realoem only has the piece diagram

I would like to see if anyone has a step-by-step removal instruction for under the shifter.. Please help..

Good luck. Dealer once changed a trim piece in the center console for me (under warranty and) ... said it took him 3 hrs to take apart and put back.

You've made it too short. I have no clue as to what you are asking to change!

Removing "under the shifter" isn't a part... "SOMEWHERE"... "find".. say what?

There is some change/money/coins somewhere under the shifter...it's rattling or making noise, OP wants to remove it.

Correct, I'd like instructions on how to remove part of the console in between the seats in order to look for some loose change that slipped through and is annoying the C**P out of me.

Thanks,,

I recall either on this forum or bimmerfest, there was a fellow who lost a coin within the center console and did a write up on it. Try a search to find it....In a nutshell he left a coin on the closed cupholder/ashtray cover and the coin slipped through the edge. It slid back and forth on a plastic ridge.....

Good luck

I am having a problem following the directions on the edit: link: X5 Coinectomy and where not to place coins. He breezes through the side trim clips and would be cool if there was a video. :)

Best bet is to hire a mobile audio/video guy. They take apart car interiors all the time and are cheaper than dealer mechanic rates.
