Which to buy?

Hey guys! This is my first post here. I am looking to buy an X5 and was wondering what year models to stay away from? Any bugs, complaints, etc?
Is there anything significantly different between the 2007, 2008, and 2009 models?

Would a 2007 3.0si be a major downgrade from a 2009 xdrive30i?

Sorry for all the questions. I just want to be fully educated in my options!

Thanks in advance!

I would stay away from a 2007 4.8. We've had numerous problems.

I would stay away from any 2007 model, as it was the first year for the new version, and statistically they had more problems. Lots of them were just fine, but if you are playing the odds, look for an 08 or 09.

My 07 4.8i has been great. Granted, I've only had it two weeks. 39k miles. Factory warranty expires 8/15/11 and then CPO kicks in.

I suppose it could be worse - but I'm not afraid. I'll surely be trading it in before CPO expires though!

Good luck with whatever you do.

My 07 4.8i is great too...no complains. Software update was done for transmission....all jerky symptoms gone....up to now great car.
