Time from Preparation Center to Dealer

Hi all, this is my first post, however, I have been reading this forum everyday since 2 months ago before I placed my order. You guys offer some great advice and info. Thanks!

One quick question, I have been tracking my build and currently it's at step 4 (Preparation Center).

Do you guys know how long it roughly takes from Step 4 to Step 5(Dealer)?

Thanks again!

I assume your dealer is also in Seattle? It is going from East Coast to West Coast, so I would guess it would take about 4 days. Just a guess though. Good luck!

Mine is going from Brunswick NC to Atlanta GA and it has been like that since the 4th. They blame the recent storm is the South which halted all trasport. I hope things clear up soon and wish you best of luck getting your X5 asap.

Isn't the preparation center at the dealership itself ? My dealership has a Preparation Center about 2 miles from the lot. They take delivery from the transporters and prep the cars for sale.

There are two prep centers:

Spartanburg SC for cars going to the eastern states of the country-
Oxnard, CA for cars going to the western states.

Seattle buyer, car is at Oxnard, will take a few days to get on a truck then 2 days up.

Thank you all for your answer! I can't wait to take delivery.

Thanks Ard for posting the information on the preparation center info!

Mine was at the Preparation Center for more than a week.

I was told (both by the dealer and other unrelated folks) that it may take a few days to load up a carrier to make it economical.

That is, they wouldn't bring just ONE car to Raleigh and vicinity or however their logistics works.

They also do bodywork and repairs at the pre-center due to damage during shipping. Just FYI. Folks should be aware of this if it seems inordinately long that a car is there.

They do also hold them at VPC to get more on a truck going to one destination.

According to the BMWUSA website, mine has been at the Preparation Center since October of 2009.

Actually, I took delivery in early November of 2009; however, the BMW website has never advanced my vehicle from the Preparation Center stage.
