Opinion Needed: BMW Employee or First Hand Experience!
Here's the deal:
What (if any) would be the repercussions if I returned my vehicle at lease end with a BMW OEM 20" wheel/rf summer tire/tpms set-up vs the 19" BMW wheel/rf all season application the vehicle came with? I would have also done the rear wheel flair conversion too IMO this is turning the vehicle back in with an improvement over the equipment leased and they would not care?? :dunno: Should I call bmw finance? I'm afraid I'll reach a kid who will give me the by the book response vs real life...... |
Sorry, you have an X6--we can't help you :stickpoke. Actually, I wouldn't think the dealer will care--it probably only helps them when they sell it again. Doesn't hurt to call. The dealer pays BMW an agreed upon price for the vehicle if they choose to put it back on their own lot as a used car.

I've always wondered about this same question. I know it's an upgrade , but technically they want the vehicle back exactly as they sold it. Keep us posted.

I wouldn't worry about it unless the upgrade you speak of are some ghetto shit like 25" chrome rims, chrome pin stripping around all doors, windows, and lights or purple HID and window tints, or giant boombox that takes all the space in the trunk....... You get the idea.

Just trade me for my 19" wheels, tires and flares...Midwest here too.

So you think my Lambo doors will be a problem ????

I see nothing in the lease language that would make adding OEM 20's to the car a problem...
Now, down-grading vs original spec or adding NON-OEM wheels could be asking for problems, or at least making yourself vulnerable... Guess I'm back to talking to bmw leasing services directly and asking for clarification... |
I am on the verge of trading my X5d for an M5. My X came with the 19s too. Over the summer I put fender flares and 20s on. I mentioned to the BMW dealer (that I'm using) during trade-in conversations that I had 20s and he is now currently trying to pry my 20s from me and include them into the trade-in number. So far, his number is pretty good IF I include my 20s. I guess I'm saying that in this experience, the dealer wants the 20s (or included in the deal), it makes it a more desirable auto. He didn't seem to care much about the 19s.
