Looking to buy 2007 BMW X5 3.0si

I am new to BMW and I am looking to buy a certified pre-owned 2007 BMW X5 3.0si. It had 48,000 miles on it. Is there anything specific that I should watch out for or have inspected?

Oh, also.... it doesn't have navigation or parking assist. Is that something I can add-on? :D

That was the first year for the new model, and some vehicles had the typical first year bugs. I would ask to see the service records, and see if there were any repeat service visits that might not have been fully resolved.

If you want Navigation, buy an X5 that has it.

PLEASE, PLEASE search for ALL my posts about my 2007 3.0si. I do not feel like re-hashing and detailing my saga. Of my 20+ new cars I've owned since 1995...my '07 E70 was the second worse!! When BMW bought it back from me, they were dealing with several buybacks on the '07 E70s (at the same dealer).

My dealer told me besides from the first few years of the last model 7 Series...the '07 and '08 E70s are the most problematic BMWs in modern models!

Buyer beware!

Thanks deutsch100... I will look up your posts. If the service records are clean would you expect new things to go wrong with it or should have all of bugs usually been found in the first year?

I have been wanting an e70 for a while and I finally found an 07 with most of the options I need that is at the right price point for me. I'm trying not to be too eager but it is hard ;)

Thanks
/jackie

Is this BMW at Steven's Creek BMW? If so, even though I am in L.A., we have taken the LONG drive there to buy 2 cars from them. I have an AWESOME sales man / friend! Steve "Papa" Hill is the BEST there!

Yes, it is at Steven's Creek. I am going to check it out tomorrow....

for some reason, I thought it was arctic white but it is silver and I am on the fence now. All of the colors are nice but gray/silver is pretty much on the bottom of my list of colors. If I can get a good deal, I'll pull the trigger... otherwise, the search continues :yikes:

The first one I drove was a 3.0. Seems like that motor is a bit too small for a vehicle this big. The N55 is such a big improvement.

:iagree:

I found the 3.0 to be underpowered hence why I went with the 4.8i

I agree with the posters above and would pull the service records to check for major issues

If you want certain items wait for a car that has them vs. buying a car that doesn't TRUST me I'm paying a fortune to get Sirius added to my car... :(
